The first is a wallet to store your funds. In order to mine using this guide, there are two things that you'll need. You can also try buying a cloud mining contract with Hashflare or Genesis Mining. If you are new to crypto mining, you can take advantage of the easy-to-use PandaPool's GUI miner. If you want to use the Nicehash miner for both hardware types, follow this guide. We are going to use two miners (Software) for each type of hardware: Nicehash miner for CPU and the claymore miner for GPU.
Today we are going to show you how to mine Zcash with your CPU and GPU on Windows. But if you're looking to profit from Zcash mining with no effort at all, this guide will do the trick. If you want to mine on your own computer, but need a little push to do so, you're in the right place. Not everyone has access to a computer, however, and not everyone has the time, knowledge or patience to start mining Zcash on their own, especially since there is no Graphic User Interface (GUI) Miner available yet. It relies on high RAM requirements to bottleneck the generation of proofs and making ASIC development unfeasible, much like Ethereum. ZCash uses Equihash as an hashing algorithm, which is an asymmetric memory-hard PoW algorithm based on the generalized birthday problem. These links are provided to help you find a pool, proceed at your own risk! is not directly affiliated with any pool and does not recommend any pool over another so don’t ask.ZCash is an anonymous cryptocurrency that uses zk-snarks to ensure that all the information regarding user transactions is safely encrypted, while still verifiable by miners that can ensure no double-spending has taken place using zero knowledge proofs. (this one is using str4d’s standalone miner, see site for instructions) (This one uses nice hash miner, see site for instructions)
IMPORTANT: That code is just an example you will need to fill in that command line with the correct information depending on which pool you choose!īelow is a list of pools I know of, I try to keep this list up to date as I can
src/zcashd -daemon -stratum=poolstratum -user=username.worker -password=yourpass -debug –printtoconsole So when we are ready to join a pool we will run. -printtoconsole (this shows the connection status in the terminal window).
-password= (this is the password you made with the pool).-user= (this is the user account you made with the pool).-stratum= (each pool will have a different stratum address check the pool site for details). That miner works well for CPU mining solo (be sure to add the Trump solver!) but for mining on a pool you will need to learn a few more commands to tell it where to connect to. I’m going to assume you have followed my other guide about getting started mining you will know about using the embedded zcashd miner by starting with. I strongly advise you to do some homework about who is behind the pool and the reputation they have before joining any pool. The other drawback of a pool is that you have to trust the pool operator! Since they are paying you based on the hash power you contribute to the pool you have be sure they are honest about the calculations. But joining a pool has a few drawbacks that you also need to know about: First of all is pool fees, many pools charge a fee to help the maintainer of the pool pay for server costs and of course make some profit. Pools are great for smaller miners because if the pool does win a block each of the workers contributing to the pool gets a portion of that block based on the percent you contributed to the pool. Please NOTE: This page is an archive! For the most up-to-date information you will want to visit my new site:įor many of us who don’t have a huge mining farm at our disposal our best chance to get some Zcash will be to join a pool.
